This villa was conceived as a summer retreat for the Giani family who were distinguished in Lucca for having founded the city’s first charity hospital. Located outside the city’s eastern gate, as Lucca has grown, the villa now finds itself virtually in town – offering double benefit of a peaceful walled haven and the proximity of all Lucca has to offer. Antique furnishings and art works are in evidence throughout the Villa which whas has been also modernised into a comfortable family home answering to the needs of a family of today.
The large well-tended garden is graced with a beautiful round swimming pool.
Villa Giani dates back to the 15th c. Recently restored, it sleeps 12 people in comfort with 6 bedrooms and 5 baths. The villa is fully air-conditioned. You'll enjoy the elegantly furnished living areas that open out to a sunny terrace and garden with a pool. Ancient stone walls surround this park-like garden planted with persimmon fruit trees, roses, wisterias, and grapevines. The sunny terrace is lined by terracotta planters with a profusion of geraniums. In the evenings dinner can be served here "al fresco". Daily house-keeping is included and chef is available to prepare dinners. Lucca was made famous by the silk trade. The artist-owner has a private drapery studio with historical fabrics on the property. The care-taker has a private apartment on the property. The owner keeps a separate smaller house for herself at the far corner of the garden; this house is not seen from the villa.

Two bedrooms , one double and one twin ,and two shower bathrooms. An extra bed is available for a child.
FIRST FLOOR: There are four double bedrooms, there are three shower bathrooms , one of which has a large jacuzzi tub.
